Made with Mini Pound Cakes and topped with colorful candy melts and sprinkles, they’re a festive, sweet treat perfect for spring parties, Easter, or just because. Makes 12 Servings


Ingredients:

  • 1 Carton Drake's Cakes Mini Pound Cakes
  • 1 Container White Frosting
  • Yellow, Blue, Pink and Green Sanding Sugar Sprinkles
  • Orange Chocolate Coated Candies
  • Black Sugar Pearl Sprinkles


Supplies:

  • Mini Oval Cookie Cutter
  • Mini Flower Cookie Cutter
  • Butterknife
  • Four (4) Shallow Bowls or Plates

Directions:

  1. First cut and oval shape out of the middle of a mini pound cake using a small oval cookie cutter to make the chick.
  2. Next frost the top of the oval cake with white frosting
  3. Then dip the cake into a small bowl of yellow sanding sugar sprinkles frosting side down making sure that the frosting is completely covered with the yellow sprinkles.
  4. Now cut an orange chocolate coated candy in half.
  5. Place the cut side down in the middle of the oval cake pressing it into the frosting.
  6. Finally add the black sugar pearls to the cake for the eyes.
  7. For the flower, cut the flower shape out of the middle of a mini pound cake using a small flower cookie cutter.
  8. Next frost the top of the flower cake with white frosting
  9. Then dip the cake into a small bowl of sanding sugar sprinkles frosting side down making sure that the frosting is completely covered with the sprinkles.
  10. Save the leftover cut pieces of cake to make a trifle or a strawberry shortcake!
